UCLA senior Larry Drew II and freshman Shabazz Muhammad have been selected to the AllPac-12 first team in a vote of conference coaches, the Pac-12 announced Monday.
Muhammad was also named co-freshman of the year, sharing the honor with Jahii Carsonof Arizona State. UCLA freshman Kyle Anderson earned second-team honors.
Allen Crabbe of California took the player of the year award, Andre Roberson of Colorado is the defensive player of the year, Dana Altman of Oregon was coach of the year and Dwight Powell of Stanford is the most improved player.
Drew, who set the UCLA record for assists in a season, leads the conference and is in the top five nationally with 7.7 per assists game. He also leads the conference and is among the top five nationally with a 3.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. The transfer from North Carolina has played a team-high 35.3 minutes this season and is the only Bruin to start all 31 games.
Muhammad is third in the conference in scoring with 18.3 points per game. He scored 20 points or more in 13 of his 28 games, including 21 in a victory over Washington in the regular-season finale that clinched the Pac-12 title for the Bruins.
