The complete 1995 UCLA national championship coaching staff reunites for the first time in 31 years: Jim Harrick, Lorenzo Romar, Steve Lavin, and Mark Gottfried, together on one show.
Between them: 1,660 head coaching wins and 42 NCAA Tournament appearances. And one banner that ended a 51-year wait — UCLA's first national title since John Wooden.
For two hours, the four coaches who built the 1994-95 Bruins tell the stories behind that season. Ed O'Bannon throwing trash cans after the Tulsa loss, and how that locker room moment lit the fuse for a championship. Coach Harrick's journey from Morningside High School, 15 minutes from campus, to the UCLA job 19 years later, and how he became a self-described PhD in John Wooden. The lineup change at Stanford that put Toby Bailey in the starting five. Tyus Edney's 4.8-second dash against Missouri, and what Ed O'Bannon said to him walking back onto the floor. Why the team didn't practice the day before the national championship game against Arkansas, and took a nature walk instead. The photo of the Kingdome taped above the locker room whiteboard all season. And the moment after the title when Coach Harrick grabbed his staff and said, "I love you guys."
