Basketball: Poly's Kameron Chatman Offered By UCLA
Things keep getting better in Jackrabbitland. We already told you that senior star Roschon Prince had committed to USC, and Jordan Bell has offers from a number of Division 1 programs.

It looks like junior Kameron Chatman will be a major recruiting target as well. According to the team's official twitter account (http://twitter.com/LBPolyhoops), Chatman was offered by UCLA's Ben Howland this morning.

So far Poly's practices this Fall have been popular stops for coaches looking for talent. The Jackrabbits have been visited by UCLA, Cal, Michigan, Gonzaga, Arizona, Washington, Washington State, LMU, Cal Poly, Navy, and Boston College, among others.

I saw Chatman play for Jefferson HS of Portland, the last game of his soph year (a playoff loss).

Jefferson offers little discipline anymore since their longtime coach left a few years ago to take an AD job at a school across town, and it shows in the team's performance... and the fact that they can never seem to keep kids on the team due to grades and discipline troubles.

So, the K. Chatman I saw was pretty raw, but definitely shows promise, and I hope he'll get some direction from the Poly coaches and faculty so that he can become a proud Bruin. :)

Just from looking at his videos, he reminds me of Sam Perkins, obviously, not as tall. Nice lefty stroke on his j. He seems laid back and could be more aggressive. But most PAC-12 teams have offered so there must be something there.

Also having played point and having ball-handling skills should be a plus ala Kyle Anderson (point forward).

Don't know much about his new school. I do hope he gets the guidance he needs both academically and athletically.

Long Beach, CA is here in So Cal so it won't be too hard for me to keep an eye on his progress.

Thanks for reading + posting.
