IN THE POLLS

UCLA is unranked in the AP Top 25 and the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll (Jan. 31) and didn't receive any votes in either poll. The St. John's Red Storm (13-8, 5-5) are unranked in both polls, and received one vote in the AP Poll but did not receive any votes in the Coaches poll.


SERIES VS. ST. JOHN'S

This is just the ninth meeting between UCLA and St. John's with the Red Storm leading the series 6-2. UCLA is 0-3 all-time against St. John's in Pauley Pavilion. The overall series dates back to 1955. The Red Storm have won the last six contests after UCLA won the first two in the series. The six-game winning streak by STJ, includes one victory each against Head Coach Ben Howland and then-UCLA Head Coach Steve Lavin. The two teams last met on Jan. 31, 2004 (Howland's first year at UCLA), when St. John's took a 71-55 win at Madison Square Garden behind Elijah Ingram's game-high 21 points. Trevor Ariza was the only Bruin to score in double figures with 19 points. St. John's last played at Pauley Pavilion on Jan. 11, 2003, when the Lavin-led Bruins dropped an 80-65 decision to STJ. Marcus Hatten led the Red Storm with a game-high 23 points while Anthony Glover had 22 points. The Bruins were led by Jason Kapono's 22 points and eight rebounds. T.J. Cummings added 17 points for the Bruins. Head Coach Ben Howland is 1-2 all-time against St. John's.


BRUINS' INJURY REPORT

Junior guard Lazeric Jones sprained his left wrist midway through the second half of the Bruins' home win over USC (Feb. 2). He finished the game and was taken for X-Rays immediately after the contest. The X-Rays were negative. He missed practice on Feb. 3 but was able to practice on Feb. 4 and should play tomorrow when UCLA hosts St. John's on Feb. 5.
