UCLA on a 3-game L streak. Loses to #9 Oregon at Pauley - 76-68

LOS ANGELES - Isaac Hamilton scored a team-leading 19 points as the UCLA basketball team lost to Oregon, 76-68, in a Pac-12 game in Pauley Pavilion on Wednesday evening.
The Bruins (15-15, 6-11) dropped their third consecutive game. Oregon (24-16, 13-4) clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 Conference’s regular-season title after outscoring the Bruins by a 43-30 margin in the second half.
Tyler Dorsey totaled 20 points and nine rebounds for the visiting Ducks, connecting on 7 of 14 shots from the field and 4 of 8 attempts from the 3-point arc. Dillon Brooks, who entered the game as Oregon’s leading scorer, finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.
UCLA’s Tony Parker scored 18 points, including the Bruins’ first nine points to open the game. Bryce Alfordrounded out the Bruins’ list of double-figure scorers, totaling 16 points.
UCLA led through the majority of the game’s first half, claiming a 23-21 cushion on an Alford 3-pointer with 8:23 to play before the break. The Bruins extended their margin to as many as 11 points in the first half.Thomas Welsh’s jump shot with 3:55 to play put UCLA on top, 36-25. Oregon reduced the Bruins’ cushion to just five points by halftime (38-33).
The Ducks responded early in the second half, slicing UCLA’s lead to just two points – 38-36 – on a 3-pointer from Dorsey just 47 seconds after halftime. UCLA maintained the advantage through the game’s next seven minutes, pushing the lead to as many as seven points – 48-41 – with 14:43 remaining.
Oregon’s 7-0 scoring run tied the game, 48-48, with 13:16 left in the second half. From that point UCLA never regained the lead, but the game’s next six minutes – up until the 6:41 mark – featured four more ties.
Casey Benson’s jump shot with 5:23 left in the half put Oregon ahead for good, 61-59. Dwayne Benjamin went to the free throw line with 5:07 remaining and nailed two free throws to give the Ducks a four-point advantage.
Trailing by seven points in the game’s final 2:49, UCLA was able to cut the deficit to three points. A 3-pointer from Alford with just 58 seconds to go reduced Oregon’s lead to 71-68. Oregon answered with a 3-pointer from Brooks, securing a six-point cushion with 30 seconds left to play.
UCLA will play its final game of the regular season against Oregon State this Saturday afternoon. Game time in Pauley Pavilion is slated for 3:30 p.m. The Bruins will honor senior forward/center Tony Parker prior to Saturday’s game.
