Norvell Pelle
Compton big man Norvell Pelle is a challenging player to evaluate. Physically he has all the tools. He’s tall, long, explosive and athletic. He can move and jump, with a wingspan that seems to go on forever.

He’s listed at 6-8, but looks bigger. He’s the type of athlete you notice immediately. He blocks shots and skies for rebounds.

The problem is that he does not dominate games. He seems to lose focus at times and his feel for the game is spotty at best. He is a tough match-up down low, but has yet to really develop a well rounded offensive game, though he can put the ball on the floor and can hit the outside shot at times.

He’s too good to be a project, but he does need a lot of work. He needs to find a coach that can maximize his many talents. A coach that will keep him focused and working hard. He finds that guy and Pelle has NBA Lottery written all over him.

Right now Pelle is being recruited by just about everyone in the country, but is not ready to narrow down his list.
The Wildcats are involved and Pelle stressed that he is still considering Arizona.

See more of his comments in the 1-on-1 video interview from the Desert Duel earlier in the week (thanks for a local Phoenix radio station for providing the hip-hop soundtrack in the background).
