Gary Trent Jr. Sets Four Official Visits
Trent Jr. recently cut his list to include those four schools plus Kentucky.
"In no order I'm down to: Arizona, Duke, Michigan State, UCLA and Kentucky," he wrote on his recent USA Today blog. "I have four of the visits locked down and I have to plan one more then I'll release all those dates.
"I'm definitely looking forward to those visits!
"I want to see the campus life, talk to the coaches about what they can do for my life, hangout with the team and things like that. I just want to see everything firsthand basically."
Trent Jr. opted to transfer to Prolific Prep from Findlay Prep (NV) before the season.
"I was texting with Josh Jackson before I went out to Prolific Prep because that's his old school and I knew he'd keep it real with me," he wrote. "He had nothing but positive things to say about it and everything he said was true.
"We're gonna be strong; we've got a great point guard in Paul Scruggs, he's in the top 30 of the 2017 class. Then we've got another player who's not in the top 100 but should be, his name is Abu Kigab. He played on the Canadian U18 National team in Chile this summer. He's a great player that does all the little things that most players don't want to do.
"We got another couple big men and a young point guard who's really smart so I'm really looking forward to the season. I feel like we're gonna win a lot of games."
Prolific Prep coach Billy McKnight told me:
"Paul, fits the mold perfectly for the type of guard we look to bring in at Prolific Prep," he said. "He's a high assist to turnover player whose unselfish play and scoring ability makes everyone around him better. He's been blessed with great size for a point guard standing 6-3 with a 6-10.5 wingspan. We couldn't be happier to have him here to add to our already incredibly competitive practices."
Just last month...
